Le Signe Singe

2013A work made in collaboration with Virginie Yassef. The performer, Pierrick Mouton, was asked to perform a moment of inactivity and boredom, "désoeuvrement" (de-working) in French. The trained monkey that we hired was given no instructions. The word "singe" means "monkey" in French. The word "signe" means "sign." Virginie and I both filmed with our cameras. I shot on a tripod, she shot with camera in hand. This is an edit of the footage I filmed.
